Laurie Vincent új zenekart indít: itt a Big Truck melankolikus nyitódala, a Central Reservation Blues

A Soft Play gitárosa, Laurie Vincent új zenekarral tér vissza: a Big Truck első kislemeze, a Central Reservation Blues most jelent meg. A formációban Vincent mellett Sam Coppins dobol, Asa Thallon gitározik, Justin Myles pedig billentyűzik. A dal egy készülő debütalbumról érkezik, amelynek címét és megjelenési dátumát még nem hozták nyilvánosságra. Hangzásban eltávolodik a Soft Play nyers, pörgős világától: inkább heartland rock és 80-as évekbeli indie hatások dominálnak, konkrétan The Cure és The Smiths inspirációival. Vincent a szám hátteréről így beszélt: „ I missed my partner’s birthday and my son’s birthday when I was in America. I’m no good at numbers, and I tend to miss those details when we’ve got a big touring operation and things are booked a year in advance. Those birthdays I missed will be remembered forever, whereas I can’t even remember those gigs that I played. ” A Big Truck alapja Vincent és Coppins régi barátsága: húsz éve a Tunbridge Wells -i színtéren ismerkedtek meg.
