NASA az Artemis II-nél Chappell Roan „Pink Pony Club” című dalával ébresztette az űrhajósokat

During NASA’s Saturday livestream of the lunar mission, flight controllers used the former NME Cover star’s 2023 pop anthem to wake up the astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft. However, to their disappointment, the track was cut just a minute in. “We were all eagerly awaiting the chorus,” Commander Reid Wiseman said, prompting laughter heard in the livestream. The Capsule Communicator could also be heard replying and promising to “try again next time” before wishing the team a good morning and giving them the rundown for the day. Per USA Today, Wiseman is part of a team of four astronauts who left Earth’s orbit on Thursday (April 2) for a historic mission to see parts of the moon that nobody has ever seen before. For around six hours on Monday (April 6), the sun, moon and the Orion spacecraft will be aligned, allowing them to view about 20 per cent of the far side of the moon, lit by the sun, according to NASA. NASA itself tweeted about the wake-up: “Today, the Artemis II crew woke up to \"Pink Pony Club\" by Chappell Roan.” Clips shared online show the crew’s amused reaction when the song stops short, and social posts picked up the moment — one fan account quoted Wiseman’s line about eagerly awaiting the chorus. The partial airplay comes amid a recent controversy around Roan stemming from an incident in São Paulo involving the stepdaughter of footballer Jorginho. Jorginho alleged that a security guard berated his 11-year-old stepdaughter, a Chappell Roan fan, after she spotted the singer at a hotel breakfast while Roan was in Brazil for Lollapalooza Brasil. Roan has said she “didn’t even see” the incident and that the guard was not employed by her; Jorginho’s wife Catherine Harding issued a statement noting the guard also wasn’t hotel staff. The dispute led to backlash against Roan and a temporary ban from a Rio festival, though later reports suggested bots may have amplified the controversy. The NASA moment offered a lighter counterpoint to those headlines: a pop song briefly bridging Earth és hold között, even if the chorus had to wait for another time.
